Admission as Erasmus+ student or as student within the framework of bilateral exchange programmes
When registered as a student with a Learning Agreement within the framework of a bilateral exchange programme at University College of Teacher Education Vienna, the International Office will assist you regarding registration, enrolement of courses, etc.
Continuation of a (bachelor) study in Austria when the study was started abroad
Students who want to switch from a university or college abroad to the University College of Teacher Education Vienna need to undergo an admissions- and aptitude procedure which is required by law (registration as of March, procedure between April and September). Successful candidates may apply to have their preparatory studies accredited/acknowledged. In order to be accepted as a regular student a very good knowledge of German is required which will be assessed during the admissions- and aptitude procedure.
Admission to bachelor studies for foreign students
In order to study in Austria, students need to have a certificate that enables them to study. This certificate is known in Austria as “Reifeprüfungszeugnis” or “Maturazeugnis”. International legal agreements require either a Maturazeugnis or an equivalent certificate from foreign students who want to study in Austria. A document certifying the completion of a study that required at least 3 years of studying is also permissible provided a Maturazeugnis (or equivalent) was a pre-condition for that study. Whenever necessary, additional exams must be taken. A very good command of German B2 or higher (the quality of which is assessed during the admissions procedure, see above) is a pre-requisite for studying.
Any study which is not performed within the framework of a bilateral exchange program, commences, after the admissions- and aptitude procedure has been successfully completed, at the beginning of the winter term.
