Below you find two reports of experiences between literature and culture in a city with many possibilities.
In the course of Brexit, it is necessary to look for new and competent cooperation partners outside Great Britain. In the field of Staff Mobility it is important to find language schools with the appropriate expertise.
In the 2nd week of July 2019 I, Christine Drexler, visited the Atlas Language School in Dublin, Portobello Road. I completed a General English Course with additional one-to-one lessons on two afternoons in order to better prepare myself for my new task of presenting technical content in the field of inclusion in English. The language school and the courses are very well organized. Besides, the language teachers I have come to know as competent, friendly and very helpful. The organisation team was always available and was extremely flexible in responding to different needs and wishes of the participants and finding a solution for every problem. A highlight of my stay was certainly my individual city tour, which took place on Friday afternoon, with a three-hour English conversation and historical and cultural stories about Dublin.

I, Eva Smith, had the opportunity to visit the language school CES Centre of English Studies in Dame Street, near City Hall, in the 3rd week of July 2019. I selected a CLIL course in order to be able to teach and present more learning and subject content in English in the coming school and academic year. My language school was also characterised by its high level of competence, flexibility and friendliness – they found an answer for every question and a solution for every problem. I would particularly like to emphasize the afternoon literature course, in which I learned how to pack dry facts and background knowledge into exciting stories.
Our unanimous conclusion: We experienced informative and exciting weeks in a great city with excellent language schools and a diverse cultural offer - museums, churches, castles and very friendly people!
We can recommend both language schools for further cooperation with our university.
