This March, a delegation from the University of Würzburg (internationalisation of teacher training) visited the PH Vienna. The fifteen participants were student teachers in primary, secondary and special education.
Having been welcomed at the international office early in the morning, the students, accompanied by Ms Kerstin Ford und Ms Bettina von Pressentin, visited the primary and secondary schools at the PH Wien. Kindly supported by both headmistresses, Ms Sabine Jakl and Ms Elisabeth Mann, and some committed teachers it was possible for the students to attend a primary school lesson, a lesson in a multi-level classroom and a secondary school lesson.
This was followed by a presentation about the University of Teacher Education Vienna, focusing on the curriculum for primary education and the new teacher education “Pädagoginnenbildung NEU”. Afterwards there was a lively discussion. Amongst other topics the Austrian and the German education systems were compared.
After the lunch break Mr Hans Krameritsch kindly provided the delegation not only with coffee and cake, but also with detailed information about the new secondary school “Neue Mittelschule”.
Overall it was a pleasant get-together and a productive exchange of knowledge and experience.
