Working at the University of Chester, UK

From Nov 1 until Nov 6, 2015 I visited the University of Chester in the north of England (Erasmus+ Staff Mobility). The university itself is very big compared to the college in which I work. It is located in a very nice area surrounded by nature and it‘s close to the city centre. During my stay I visited about seven departments of the University, which were of great interest for my job. I got to know how the different departments work.

I learned a lot about working processes and I got a glimpse into the British way of life. My British colleagues informed me about their duties and tasks at the University of Chester and the general professional life in Britain.

The members of staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We also had lovely talks about our different customs and traditions.

This stay helped me to get valuable insight into a completely new working environment and it broadened my mind and understanding. The Erasmus mobility week was one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had. I think it helped me to develop my personal skills and I could improve my English. In addition, I think that professional training abroad is very important both for companies and educational institutions because it strengthens their international dimension.

Conclusion: I am very happy and delighted to have had the opportunity to visit the University of Chester and the city itself. I met lovely people and had a lovely stay in a beautiful town. I definitely recommend it.
