„I started thinking in English“ - Staff Training Week/ Barcelona – English for Lecturers

„I started thinking in English“ – I could finish my report with this success message again.

Anyway, it is nice to think back to this week. I would not have thought before my trip that Barcelona would be such a good place for an English training.
One of the success factors was definitely the intensive language course with a native speaker, which took place every morning and afternoon. In addition to the training of basic skills, a lot of emphasis was focused on vocal exercises. Additionally, two excursions were organised by the language school, one to the Gothic Quarter and one to the national museum of Barcelona. Another success factor was the conversation with colleagues who do not speak German. They came from Sweden, Finland, Poland and France.

As I am a sportsman myself, a visit to Camp Nou was of course a must. It is the dream of every football player to sit on the coaching bench of FC Barcelona. Camp Nou is a football stadium in the middle of the metropolis that offers 99.354 seats for spectators and it is the largest football stadium in Europe and the largest club stadium in the world.

Of course, not only sports fans have a lot to see in Barcelona. Here is a photo of the interior of Palau Güell von Gaudi.

I hope to be accepted to the Erasmus+ Programme again next year, so that my students can benefit from my professionalization.
